When we are wrong
Corrections policy
How to report an error, how quickly we respond, and how a correction is recorded on the page itself.
The promise
A correction is published on the page that carried the error, with its date.
Severity and response
Errors are triaged by what a reader could reasonably do with the wrong information. A misstated statute or a wrong formula outranks a typo, and is handled first.
- Material error
- A wrong fact, formula, citation or legal statement. The claim is removed or corrected immediately on discovery, and a dated correction note is appended to the page.
- Clarification
- Accurate but ambiguous wording. Rewritten, with a note when the change alters meaning.
- Minor fix
- Typography, links, formatting. Fixed silently; the review date advances.
How corrections are recorded
We do not quietly overwrite. A corrected page keeps a correction note describing what was wrong and when it changed. Where a claim cannot be verified after challenge, it is removed rather than defended, and the removal is noted in the same place.
Reporting an error
Point at the page, quote the sentence, and say what you believe the correct position is and why. A link to a primary source makes the fix immediate. Reports about the AI Analyst should include the question asked and the block that was wrong, including its provenance badge.
