How the analyst works
AI transparency
Which model answers you, what it is instructed to do, how every block of an answer is labelled, and what it will refuse.
The promise
The assistant labels the provenance of every block it writes, and says it has no verified source rather than inventing one.
What is running
The SportsWager Analyst is a large language model accessed through the Lovable AI Gateway. It is a general-purpose model prompted for this task; it is not trained on proprietary market data, and it has no live connection to any odds, exchange, schedule, injury or weather feed.
That last point matters more than any other on this page. When the Analyst is asked for a current price, a line, a probability or an injury status, it has no way to know it. It is instructed to say so.

- Live data access
- None. The Analyst cannot browse, and no market feed is connected to it.
- Personalisation
- None. Conversations are not linked to an account, because the site has no accounts.
The labelling protocol
The system prompt requires the model to open each block of an answer with a provenance tag, which the interface renders as a badge and a coloured rail. A general explanation cannot be merged into a sourced fact, and an opinion cannot be presented as arithmetic.
- Verified fact
- Attributable to a named source. Rare, by design, while no feeds are connected.
- Educational
- General explanation of a mechanism or a definition.
- Calculation
- Arithmetic on inputs you supplied, with the working shown.
- Historical example
- A dated past example used for teaching, never current.
- Analytical opinion
- Interpretation, flagged as such.
- No verified source
- The honest refusal. The Analyst says this rather than guessing.
- Out of scope
- Picks, plays, stake sizing and anything advisory.
Where AI is and is not used
AI answers questions in the Analyst console. It does not write the editorial pages, the glossary, the guides or the jurisdiction research on this site — those are human-written and carry a review date.
No page on this site publishes an AI-generated statistic, price, probability, confidence score or ranking. If you ever see one, it is a defect; report it through the corrections route.
Limits you should assume
Language models produce fluent text regardless of whether they know the answer. The labelling protocol reduces that risk; it does not eliminate it. Treat a calculation as arithmetic you can re-run yourself, an explanation as a starting point, and any unlabelled assertion as unverified.
