Prediction market
A prediction market is an exchange on which participants trade contracts tied to the resolution of a real-world event. A contract settles at its full value if the outcome occurs and at zero if it does not, so its traded price can be read directly as a probability, net of fees. Unlike a sportsbook, the venue is a counterparty-matching platform rather than the taker of the other side.
