Closing line
The closing line is the last price posted before a market stops trading. It is the most informed price in the market's life, because it incorporates everything known up to that moment, and it is therefore the conventional benchmark against which earlier prices are judged. Comparisons to a closing line are only meaningful when the exact venue and timestamp are stated.
